Last spring my husband and I were at a local indie designer fair in Hayes Valley. He wandered off to check out a few vendors, and came back saying that he had seen some "really cute, ruffled clothes" that he knew I would love. Now if he was actually admiring clothes for me, I knew it must be something really good!

 

Sure enough, we walked over to the Jules Elin booth, where I had the good fortune to find the last Elin coat in my size. The "ruffles" he described were actually the gathers that the wearer can create on the collar of the coat. This is my favorite way to wear the coat, with the ties wrapped around my back and tied at my waist. The collar adds the right amount of drama and makes me feel like a modern day Queen Elizabeth with the way it frames my face! I always get compliments on this unique piece whenever I wear it, and the fleece fabric is perfect for the San Francisco climate.

 

The other pieces I tried on were also fantastic. The flattering cuts of the coats and dresses suit a variety of figures, and made me feel good wearing them. My only regret was that I was not able to take everything home with me that day!

Your company is exactly what I think a company should/could be.  It meets the asthetics I have set for myself...consider the environment first, make better choices, make change happen.  You are establishing your own path, yet at the same time creating a way for others to see that doing the right thing is second nature and can be incorporated into every facet of your business.  It has a trickle down effect as it sparks that same creative way of thinking in your employees, the businesses you deal with and those that you sell to.

I gave trees this year as Christmas presents, a way to have a long-lasting effect on those that received them in providing them with a memory everytime they looked at it, watered it and sat beneath it.  They were the most well-received and unexpected gift I gave.  I know that your partnership with American Forest will have an impact that will be life sustaining and provide more than you know.
